A hullámkádban a vízfelület megzavarásával jól követhető hullámjelenségeket tudunk létrehozni. A beeső vízcseppek hatására egy-egy körhullám – a 3 dimenziós gömbhullám 2 dimenziós változata - alakul ki és terjed a felület mentén minden irányban azonos sebességgel, amíg akadályba nem ütközik.
