A kísérletünk főszereplője egy biciklilánc, amelyet könnyedén meg tudunk forgatni a hozzá kapcsolt vastag fémhuzal segítségével. Megpörgetve a láncot a láncszemek egyre nagyobb sugarú pályára kerülnek. A fordulatszám növelésével lánc megemelkedik és kifeszül, szabályos köralakot formálva a forgástengelyre merőleges síkban.

The focus of this experiment is a bicycle chain that can be easily rotated by a strong metal wire attached to it. By rotating the chain, the loops of the chain will move on a circular path with increasing radius. By increasing the revolutions per minute the chain will be raised and form a regular circular shape in the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
