Rezgéskeltőnk ebben a kísérletben hat, egymást azonos távolságban követő pontszerű forrás. Ezek azonos amplitúdóval, azonos fázisban keltenek hullámot. A hullámtér adott pontjában a hullám intenzitását megkaphatjuk a hullámkeltőkből érkező hullámok interferenciájaként.
